My second favorite caliber for Texas Whitail is the 325 WSM, with 117 Gr.Softpoints. One issue with most 270 WSM calibers is that you can't buy factory ammunition. My mom's favorite rifle is my new Savage 16FHSS with the checkered tigerwood chambered in 325 WSM and 270 WSM. I will always remember my favorite hunt this spring for wild turkey was with my daughter Aurea who shot a big Rio Grande gobbler with my 270 WSM.
I like the the 325 WSM best for deer hunting. My Dad's favorite caliber is the 270 WSM hands down.
